What is tyre killer types?






  • -They are mostly preferred as mechanical tyre killer. The spikes/teeth work mechanically. 


  • -Electro mechanically tyre killers are also available which moves the spikes/teeth work via link mechanism connected with a gear box and an AC Motor. 


  • -Hydraulic Tyre Killers spikes/teeth raise help of a hydraulic piston. These tyre killers have separate hydraulic power units. The tyre killer and power unit are connected between each of them with hydraulic hoses. 


  • -Flush Mounted Tyre Killers are installed in a concrete pit. Its main body and mechanism are underground but teeth/spikes are above of road surface. 


  • -Tyre killers often use counter weight mechanisms to allow the teeth raise again after a car pass on it, but preventing passage in the other direction. 


  • -Some of manufacturers uses a compression spring in tyre killer mechanism instead of counter weight. 


  • -A lock down mechanism attached to tyre killers if the spikes/teeth can be locked at lowered position. Thus, tyre killer allows to passage from both way temporary especially in emergency situations.
